Today we’re sharing our top essential oils for hair growth. Yes, essential oils can assist with this process & soo much more!

There are many products on the market that promise to promote hair growth but do they really contain the ingredients to make that claim true?

If the products are loaded with synthetics the answer is most likely, NO. This is where researching ingredients before buying & trying products will save you disappointment & money. Environmental Working Group has the largest skin deep database for this purpose.

WHEN WOULD YOU WANT TO USE A HAIR GROWTH PRODUCT?

Any time you want really because who doesn’t want more hair growth…but especially if you notice hair thinning & excessive shedding as growth products are to be applied at the scalp & not on the hair itself.

SCALP CONDITIONS

You may also have a scalp condition like alopecia, psoriasis or eczema. There are several types of alopecia not all are permanent and in some cases dermatological treatments are needed to regrow the hair. Going the natural route using essential oil powered products to see how your scalp responds is preferable and harmless so long as you aren’t allergic to any of the ingredients in the product.

For psoriasis & eczema conditions lavender loaded products are the best route to go as they are anti-inflammatory, skin healing and stimulant at the same time. Our Lavender Luxury Elixir was made for this & more!

HOW HAIR GROWTH PRODUCTS WORK

Hair growth products generally work by stimulating body systems sending more nutrients to the hair follicles, balancing the scalp to promote homeostasis and managing or preventing scalp conditions. Most hair growth products only do #1. The best available do all three like our hair growth blends.

HOW TO USE ESSENTIAL OILS SAFELY

To ensure you’re using your essential oils in the safest way for on the scalp or skin application be sure to dilute them in a carrier oil or water, witch hazel or a mixture depending on your desired use. Applying essential oils neat or directly to the skin can increase sensitivity, eventually leading to allergy or other reactions so – dilute dilute dilute and when in doubt buy pre-formulated products.

Oils that contain any other ingredients than the botanical or plant essence itself are not pure essential oils and should not be promoted as such so be careful in your purchasing. More on essential oil safety here.

Most essential oils are very very thin like water thin and range in color from clear like water to yellows, oranges to very dark brown like Vanilla. Note: Resin & Grass derived oils will be the darkest, thickest & most tacky textured.

WHY NOT JUST USE SYNTHETICS?

We prefer Mother Nature’s offerings around here. The remedies and medicines of the Ancients with none of the unnatural adverse effect concerns. After all they have the longest track record of effectiveness 😉 Synthetics have a track record of their own of causing serious harm to human health with prolonged exposure.

As you can see from the cautions above some essential oils are not without their potentially negative effects on the body as with all substances in creation there is positive & negative, pro & con, yin & yang. Which makes taking your Aromatherapy guidance from an experienced aromatherapy practitioner important as a lot of information online can be conflicting. We’ve got many years of experience built into our product formulas & growing.

Synthetics have limitations and health harming properties natural products just don’t have. In fact synthetics are created primarily to mimic the actions of natural products for profit.

Plus aromatherapy just does soo much more than remedy ills & it just SMELLS SOO SOO GOOD.

We hope you’ll give essential oils a try and make them a greater part of your self-care & well-being practices. Life is better with Aromatherapy!
